Frequently asked questions.
01. What exactly is documentary wedding photography?
It’s all about telling the story of your day as it really happens — the real emotions, the laughs, the tears, the in-between bits you didn’t even know were happening. No awkward posing or forced smiles — just real, honest moments that actually matter. is a frequently asked question?
02. Does that mean no posed photos at all?
Not at all! If you’d like a few family photos or couple portraits, we’ll definitely make time for those. I just keep them relaxed and quick, so you’re not missing out on the party. Think “Hey, let’s grab this moment,” not “stand here for 45 minutes while we rearrange your hands.”
03. We’re super awkward in front of the camera — help!
You’re in good hands. Honestly, most of my couples say this, and then totally forget I’m even there. Since I’m not asking you to pose or perform, you can just be yourselves — and I’ll take care of capturing all the good stuff.
04. Can we meet before the wedding?
Absolutely! I love chatting with my couples beforehand. We can grab a coffee or jump on a Zoom call — whatever works for you. It’s a great way to get to know each other and chat about your plans.
05. Do you travel?
Yes, please! I’m based in Wicklow, but I’m always up for an adventure — whether it’s a country barn wedding, a big city celebration, or a beach elopement somewhere dreamy. Travel fees might apply depending on the location, but I’ll always be upfront about that.
06. How many photos will we get — and when?
You’ll get a full gallery of fully edited images (usually around 500) that tell the full story of your day. I send a sneak peek within a few days (because I know waiting is hard!) and your full gallery will be ready within 4-6 weeks.
07. How do we book you?
Once we’ve had a chat and you’re ready to lock it in, I’ll send over a simple contract and booking invoice (just a €300 deposit). That secures your date in my calendar, and then we’re all set!
08. What if something happens and you can’t make it?
I’ve never missed a wedding (and I plan to keep it that way!). But just in case, I have an amazing network of fellow photographers I can call on. I also carry backup gear and full insurance, so you’re covered from every angle.
09. Are you insured?
Yep — fully insured with public liability and professional indemnity (aka: I’ve got all the boring but important stuff covered).
